Spot UV is a screen printing process that is gaining popularity in the design and packaging markets for its ability to provide stunning results in making designs stand out from the crowd.

Using high speed, semi-automatic flatbed screen printing machine, we apply a clear gloss, pigmented, or matt coating to specific areas of a design to enhance its features, sometimes producing a 3D effect. It can be applied directly onto the print or on top of a matt lamination. Specific patterns can be incorporated into the design in clear gloss, such as linen, leather or dew drops which gives the whole design another dimension. The perfect way to maximise visual contrast on print. High gloss or matt UV varnish is applied to certain areas of matt or gloss materials, respectively, that have been printed with wax free Litho ink. An attractive and alternative tinted effect can be gained by mixing a small quantity of ink into a clear UV varnish.
